New! Uzumaki Sakura Ice Cream

I tried this Uzumaki Sakura Ice Cream @ bugis.. hhmm... It taste like milky + mild berries soft ice cream.. the chocolate chips created a crunchy bites while the ice cream melts in the mouth..

Not a bad choice once in a while... as it cost $4... expensive leh..

Aburiya + Canelé Pâtisserie Chocolaterie

eih.. the last gathering was just only a week ago and why there's another outing again? well.. the reason for this gathering is to farewell kitchi and give her an advance bday celebration.. (hm.. though still 2 weeks more to go).. but for sure, she will be leaving to Bangkok for work.. at least 30 days she will stay, come back and return to BKK again.. bought her a backpac bag.. chosen by herself.. hope she uses it well !!

We changed our mind to have our dinner at Aburiya as the patisserie don't serve much main course for 10 of us !

Aburiya @ Robertson Quay is a Japanese + Korean grill-our-own style restaurant. Can choose their 2 pax set meal or ala-carte. We grill our meat on top of the charcoal, just like BBQ.. But I feel my face very hot after the meal as the heat from the charcoal keep blowing towards me throughout the meal.. arh.. hot hot. You may consider to sit outdoor as I feel it's quite stuffy for indoor.. smoky and less ventilation I think.. overall the food is nice lah..especially they have lots of different types of marinated meat for you to use. How about grilled duck? It taste special, try it out!

Then we headed to Canelé Pâtisserie Chocolaterie for their fairy-tale made patisseries. Wuh.. they look so nice so 精致 that u don't know how to start your first scoop.. afraid of spoiling the cake. They are selling at $6 per piece. The differences of a patisserie and normal cake? I think the patissier is more emphasizing in the creativity, design and presentation of the pastries using different kind of ingredient. You can try out and know what the exact taste of a normal cake is, but from wat we experience last nite, we can hardly descript the exact taste from a patisserie! Think that's the magical factor that attract us...

Towards the end of the gathering.. somebody already asking "when will be the next gathering?" ... huh?? who knows? .. I'm sure there will .. as long as there's a minor reason.. ha

Went to the bungalow launching at the Impian Emas Goft Course for a free lunch on Sunday. Wow.. the bungalow land already SOLD out and only left 20 units which facing the main road and it goes at RM60 psf. Times up with the land area... ooo.. u got to pay RM600K for the land only! waPiang.. SOLD out.. that mean lots of wealthy ppl are moving into my neighbourhood ~ (in case those never visit my home.. my house definately not BUNGALOW as advertised above.. thank you)

Imagine u buy the land, you engaged architect for your bungalow then follow by contractors, landscaper.. how much will be spent in the end?? For me it will definitely be a 天文数字! Made me relates the phenomenon to the Sg Condo sales. Wonder.. how many bungalow owners are really Johorean?

Anywhere, few years later.. I will see lots of different and unique design of bungalow scattered ard the green scenery beside the golf course.. see also can Wow.. Woowww... wow...

For us.. just go there for the following.. ahhaa.. unit enquiry counters? Not our interest pls..

五味杂陈 – Fabulous Seafood dinner

During that few hours of down mood after the interview.. I start SMS my fellow kakis for the dinner at nite. Surprisingly... everyone is so supportive and just reply OK, no problem !! oh.. that really gave me a warm feel at that moment.. (or they alr knew there're sponsors for the meal?)

I spent the rest of my leave day walking around Orchard Road.. hey, it's only 4 plus and how come it's so crowded?? These ppl no need to work? Arh...

I went to Clarke Quay to check out the best makan place for nearly 10 of us.. uh.. very expensive leh... In the end I chose the Quayside Seafood .. anywhere it should be nice for ordering few dishes and everyone can get wat they like ..

Sri Lanka Chili Crab. Lobster in herbal soup. Steam tiger Garoupa. Scallop with 芦笋... still a lot more.. that's really a big feast, I have never ate such feast in JB yet leh!!! Too bad.. none a picture taken !! we are just too eager to eat eat eat eat eat .... ... ...

五味杂陈 – Suck Interview

Came back to office on Wed with a very complicated mood as I don't wish to come back office and wonder when will my migraine attack again?

I took a half day leave earlier on as there will be an interview at 1330hrs.. Ho.. I used the excuse of going to meet my tiong bahru new unit owner for contract signing... but this AL wan me to go back office after I settle the issue.. "You took half day again? You jus back from the leave! Come back come back!" nah.. wait long long..

Alrite, I would like to share this sucking interview with my civil fellas..

“Since you are already so long in construction, why you wan to have this drastic change to go for design? Frankly speaking.. you are just nothing and just like a fresh grade !”

“okay, you don't have any experience in design, how about your result?... (after seeing the transcript) .. oh, your engineering paper didn't do so well, what's the reason? Our employees here are mostly second upper and above.”

“The best offer I can give is $2100, eventhough a bit more experience I will give like $2200 only. But I don't think you would accept unless you really wan to start all over again.”

“Actually you are not at lost; I believe you still can improve yrself in precast line. As an engineer, you can always implement or suggest what the best solution for your management and I'm sure there's always a career ladder for you to climb.”

“I didn't get chance to read your resume as I'm oversea. I called you for interview cos I saw your name as a Chinese. We prefer Chinese more than foreigner...”

Oh.. didn't read resume and ask ppl go for interview and kena all these sucking comments from you!!! Then wat's the point of stating "Only short listed candidates will be notified" ????

FED UP !!!!

My mood is terribly down for few hours. What have I done to deserve all this? After cooling down.. some of his comment might be useful.. it gave me a hint that maybe I shall continue my path in the construction or supplier line.. “if you're in precast, be the best in your specialities” .. yes, if you wan to enhance yourself and be more competent, try to be outsourced and think wide from your current job.. if not u can't show ppl your outstanding point when you go for interview.. as interviewer always expect more for EXPERIENCED candidates. And the truth is... we are not fresh grade anymore !

Back from Rejuvenate weekend

Batam Turi Beach Resort was indeed a getaway location for those who like to have a quiet and lazy retreat vacation.

Only 35 mins away from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal and you can reach a totally different view of lifestyle.. Batam is definitely less crowded than Bintan.. and the price of food at Batam also lower than Bintan!! And amazingly.. it's cloudy and windy .. Not sweaty hot at all !

I felt ease when I saw the sea.. heard the waves.. and smell the fragrance of indo food from the café. We didn't make any arrangement for wat should do over there (actually also no where & nothing much u can do over there).. it's just purely walk ard, lying ard and spent your time there!!

The wooden deluxe villa with balcony facing the sea, the hut around the pool and the Indo traditional massage beside the pool ~~ Cool.. I even had my own-prepared mask done beside the sea!! hooo..

听海风, 看本书, 凉风习习的露台... 太舒服了










人很少吧?! 难得悠闲...











有备而来! 不会太夸张啦....











Few observation to share:

1) Whenever there's beach and pool.. there's Ang Moh. The difference is.. the Ang Moh here was engaged with local Indo lady.. with kids having a vacation. Doo shite?? A wedding was held at the platform at the sea walkway there.. also Ang Moh with Local

2) Not a Japanese at all! unlike bintan... I can see a few groups of Korean visitors walked ard the pool side and beach to take photosss.. No idea wheather they stay overnite at the resort or not

3) Lots of mosquitos attacking in the hut at nite.. bring mosquito repellent? yes you can.. but actually the resort is very caring, they provide two small pack of repellent lotion in the bathroom! and the white curtain with the bed is actually 蚊帐
